The Heritage Society is an interactive history museum, with nine historic structures and a museum gallery. Each structure is restored to reflect its original magnificence. Visitors learn about the families who inhabited these structures and about what life was really like during Houston’s early years.

MILES AND MILES OF TEXAS:The Lone Star State Through the Eyes of Buck Schiwetz is on display at the Heritage Society Museum, through September 27, 2009. The exhibition offers a rich survey of the artist’s work, including more than fifty of Schiwetz’s finest Texas subjects. The selection depicts the artist’s range of styles and media, and shows works from throughout his long career.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
