Exhibits

Civil War Sesquicentennial Exhibit: Real History is Told in Private Letters
The Fells presents an exhibit of the diary and letters of Colonel John Hay and those of Ninth New Hampshire Regiment Corporal Elmer Bragg. Hay's writings describe his Civil War duties, life in the White House and President Lincoln's leadership and humanity. Bragg's poignant personal effects reveal a young soldier's experience from enlistment to battlefields and his final days.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
