The Tallahassee Museum is a living museum set amidst 52 acres of breathtaking flora and fauna. The Museum encourages guests to discover North Florida’s natural environment and rich history. The historic buildings, living exhibits of native Florida wildlife, and nature trails are renowned by visitors of all ages.
During the run of Curators in Action, the Phipps Gallery will become a collections lab, blending a photo studio and shelves of collections storage with a cataloging workspace. Staff, interns, and volunteers will photograph and catalog historical artifacts and natural science specimens in public view.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
