The Tahoe Maritime Museum explores the unique maritime history of Lake Tahoe through innovative exhibits, programs, and hands-on learning experiences.

Exhibits

Tahoe Escape: Surviving the Great Depression. From gliding across the lake in a motorboat to taking hikes on newly constructed trails, the men and women who visited the lake found ways to release the stress of their everyday lives. Our new exhibit featuring White Smoke, Miss Tessa, High Hopes, and Phantasy III will exemplify this spirit of escapism.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
