Featured on Ripley's Believe It or Not, the Glore Psychiatric Museum chronicles the 130-year history of what was once known as “State Lunatic Asylum No. 2." Also features extensive exhibits on the history of the treatment of mental illness.
The St. Joseph Museum showcases a large American Indian collection, which includes clothing, accessories, fans, pottery, pipes, weapons, kachinas, jewelry, and archaeological artifacts from ten cultural regions. The Museum also features the temporary exhibit, "Civil War Medicine."
Visit a field hospital as it would have appeared in the midst of battle as you explore a 1,100 square foot exhibit on "Civil War Medicine." Using artifacts from the North and the South, the exhibit illustrates medical care through the eyes of one doctor and two soldiers.
This venue will accept your Museum Day Live! ticket on the screen of your smartphone.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
