The Spellman Museum is dedicated both to the study of philately and to educating the general public about the rich history of stamps and the postal system. Programs are directed to adults and children and feature a mail gallery, an activity room and special exhibit cases.Exhibits are changed by season and a Gift Shop provides both philatlic materials and general stamp related items as gifts.

Exhibits

Zepplin Mail, Patriotic Stamps, Special Harry Potter on Stamps display antique stamp cases, children's Postal games, Massachuetts on Stamps and Recent Issues. Children's activities include arts and crafts with stamps and various stamp games and puzzles for prizes.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
