Come to the top of the hill for an exceptional view of history! The Skagit County Historical Museum in scenic La Conner Washington has three large galleries of artifacts, images and stories of the history of Skagit County. We feature hands-on activities for kids of all ages.

Paint Me a River, Too!

Art meets history.
The history of Skagit County as seen through local artists’ eyes with over 100 artists taking the “history challenge” to produce some of the most creative and beautiful pieces you could imagine. Art includes paintings, pastels, sculpture, and jewelry emulating the scenes, sounds and imagined smells of our colorful Valley.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
