Explore Chinese and Chinese American art, history and culture. The San Diego Chinese Historical Society and Museum is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to collect, preserve and share Chinese and Chinese American art, culture and history in order to educate our diverse communities.
The museum’s permanent collection includes artifacts from both sides of the Pacific: from models of old Chinatown businesses and a Chinese herb cabinet to a marvelous bridal carriage and a warlord's alcove bed.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
