The mission of S.C.R.A.P. Gallery (Student Creative Recycle Art Program) is to actively engage youth as stewards of their environment through concentrated, hands-on, educational efforts stressing the Four R's – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Responsibility.
Learn about recycling and reusing by creating a great work of art. Museum Day will be celebrated here with special exhibits and free eco-friendly give-aways!
Exhibits include the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery Art Warehouse where visitors can view great works, and are then invited to create great works of their own using reused and recycled materials; Balancing Acts and Our Urban Environment explore environmental issues and the sustainability of our planet.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
