Benjamin Harrison's 16-room Italianate Victorian house, built in 1874-75, figured prominently in his campaign for the presidency. Harrison gave 80 "front porch" speeches to 300,000 from his Delaware Street home. The newly-renovated museum at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site offers daily guided tours.
The 2011 exhibit, titled “Windows to the Past: Harrison's Indianapolis,” follows the Harrisons to their Delaware Street home and traces the progress of Indianapolis from a small state capital to a large metropolitan city.
