At the tip of a narrow peninsula on the spectacular Mendocino Coast stands the majestic Point Arena Lighthouse and Fog Signal Building museum. Stand at the top of our 115 ft lighthouse tower, and visit our museum to view the pristine 100-year old First Order Fresnel Lens.
The focal point of our museum is the 666-prism, First Order Fresnel Lens. It is nine feet tall, over six feet wide, and a true work of art. Also on display are exhibits of shipwrecks that occurred on this treacherous stretch of the Pacific coast.
This venue will accept your Museum Day Live! ticket on the screen of your smartphone.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
