The Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum is the recipient of six distinguished architectural design awards, including the 2005 American Institute of Architects National Honor Award. The museum's minimalist aesthetic has been captured by many nationally recognized architectural photographers.
Three exhibits on view this fall will consist of
"A Continuous Mark" featuring Huguette Mays large scale charcoal drawings and Kathleen Elliot's glass sculptures, "Intimate Science" featuring contemporary artist conducting projects dealing with the physical and natural world, and the last exhibit is called "Gumbo" consisting of the museum's
collection.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
