Enjoy a great day in the mountains of San Diego along with a one-hour train ride and a tour of the Museum grounds with 80+ pieces of equipment to see and touch. Open weekends only.
A completely restored and award winning Railway Post Office car will be open for inspection. Come out and see when the post office rode the rails, and mail between cities wassometimes delivered the same day!
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
