Old Salem is the most authentic and comprehensive history attraction in the country. It includes three museums: The Historic Town of Salem, Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA); and the Old Salem Toy Museum .
Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.
