Located on 18 acres, the Oklahoma History Center is a beautifully designed, self-guided exploration of Oklahoma – past to present. Within the 215,000 sq. ft. learning center are five state-of-the-art galleries housing more than 200 hands-on audio, video and computer activities each exploring the iconic and sometimes infamous history of Oklahoma.

Exhibits

Pickin' & Grinnin'; Roy Clark, Hee Haw and Country Humor opens May 3, 2011. This exhibit explores the unique connection Hee Haw, Roy Clark and country humor has to Oklahoma.

The Uncanny Adventures of Oklahoma Cartoonists is an interactive, kid-friendly exhibit that showcases the Oklahomans who have played a major role in the evolution of comic books, comic strips, and editorial cartoons. Oklahomans have created, drawn or written some of the most beloved characters in American popular culture.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
