The Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art is committed to presenting new ideas about the cultural heritage of the Gulf Coast region and beyond. The museum presents compelling exhibits and interactive educational experiences for all ages to discover the diversity and richness of American artistic traditions.
On exhibition is the incomparable ceramic styling of the Mad Potter of Biloxi, George Ohr. In addition, the George Ohr National Challenge, a juried show for contemporary artists of both 2-D and 3-D work is on display.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
