The Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum is home to a variety of programs, from educational tours, Family Days and teacher workshops to Scout workshops, overnights, and training classes. All of our programs take place in a retired jack-up drilling rig that has been redesigned into a museum. A truly one-of-a-kind experience!
The museum features three floors of models, a Hall of Fame, authentic equipment, and multimedia displays that illustrate the exciting story of the offshore industry. From exploration and production to marine transportation, visitors to the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum gain first-hand experience of the offshore industry.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
