Explore North Carolina’s past and learn about its people. See exhibits highlighting the state’s military history, decorative arts, pirate history, sports heroes and more. Admission is free. The museum’s hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The Museum Shop is open daily.
Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.
