45-acre living museum promoting conservation of native New England flora. The term native refers to plants growing in New England before European settlement. Unique New England Rare Plant Garden and Invasive Plant Jail. Eco-friendly Garden Shop.

Exhibits

Discover more than 1,000 native plant species and 150 rare and endangered species in naturalistic displays. Gardens include lily pond, woodland garden, idea garden, habitat displays, meadow, western plant collection, beech grove, and rain garden. Special guided walking tour at 2pm.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
