The New Hampshire Boat Museum is an educational organization focusing on the boating heritage and life on the lakes and rivers of New Hampshire. We serve the local community and visitors by presenting exhibits and outreach programs, events, publications and hands-on activities.
During the 2013 season, the New Hampshire Boat Museum will host an exhibit on the history of motor boat racing on Lake Winnipesaukee. Starting in the 1920s, racing was held on the Lake thrilling thousands of spectators. The New Hampshire Boat Museum will exhibit a number of vintage race boats dating from the late 1920s through the early 1960s.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
