The National Ranching Heritage Center is a museum and historical park located on the Texas Tech University campus. Visitors to the NRHC will see historic windmills, dugouts, barns, corrals and more. Each building has been authentically restored, furnished or outfitted to reflect period correctness.
No indoor exhibits will be on display this year, due to the construction of the north addition. However, all buildings outside will be available, as well as a barbed wire and branding iron exhibits in the 6666 Barn.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
