The Museums of Old York is the steward of nine historic properties and outstanding furniture, decorative and folk art collections. A vibrant schedule of exhibitions, lectures, workshops and hands-on education programs along with an archival library and contemporary art gallery round out the museum’s offerings.

Exhibits

In the Eye of the Beholder showcases the museum's collection of folk art while exploring the definition of folk art. The exhibit is part of the Maine Folk Art Trail, a collaborative project involving eleven Maine museums concurrently exhibiting their folk art collections.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
