*The Museum of Vision will be celebrating Museum Day on Friday, September 27th!* (Museum is closed on weekends)
The Museum of Vision is the only museum in the United States dedicated to the important role ophthalmology has played in the history of medicine. We seek to inspire an appreciation of vision science, the ophthalmic profession, and contributions made toward preventing blindness. See you on the 27th!
*The Museum of Vision will be celebrating Museum Day on Friday, September 27th!* (Museum is closed on weekends)
On Friday, September 27th visit "Contagion! Epidemics in Ophthalmic History". Plague, pestilence and pandemic are words that have struck fear for centuries. Learn about the causes and cures of eye disease before and after antibiotics.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
