The Museo Alameda is the first Smithsonian affiliate museum outside of Washington, DC. It is located in heart of San Antonio, Texas. Its core mission is to educate its audience about the Latino experience in the American story.

Exhibits

The Museo Alameda proudly presents its newest exhibition Revolution & Renaissance: Mexico & San Antonio 1910 - 2010. This two part exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution and examines the artistic and cultural exchanges between San Antonio and Mexico in the 20th century. The cultural efflorescence that took place in the wake of the Revolution is revealed in more than 200 rarely seen paintings, sculptures, folk art pieces, and other objects on view at the museum.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
