At the Muncie Children's Museum children are encouraged to explore, create and discover throughout our 24,000 square ft. facility and 18 interactive exhibits. The Muncie Children's Museum strives to provide fun through educational and interactive opportunities for children in a safe and creative environment.
Dig up dinosaur bones in our Dino Dig, become an ant and climb through our Ant Wall, visit our menagerie of mammals, reptiles and amphibians: our snakes Desi, Lucy and Maize, Penelope the Chinchilla, Axl the Axolotl, Valkyrie the Tarantula and dozens of others. Or you can watch the model trains whiz by you on the tracks of the miniature city of Muncie!
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
