Morris Museum of Art is the first and largest museum in the country devoted to the art and artists of the American South. The museum’s permanent collection holds approximately five thousand paintings, works on paper, and sculpture, dating from the late-eighteenth century to the present.
Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.
