In 1970 local citizens joined forces to preserve the long-time home of Titanic’s most famous survivor. Today, you can visit the Brown’s opulent 1889 home and hear the fascinating tales of Margaret “Molly” Brown’s incredible life, from instant mining-town wealth, to labor reform and the stages of New York.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
