The Minnesota Zoo is a leading Minnesota cultural institution that provides more than one million visitors a year with the opportunity to learn about wildlife and nature. Our mission is to connect people, animals and the natural world., which means we're dedicated to inspiring people to act on behalf of the environment.

Exhibits

The Zoo sits on 485 acres and is home to more than 2,400 animals and 445 species from around the world. Animals include Amur tigers, Chinese takin, wolverines, Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, sharks & fish, Mexican wolves, sun bears, gibbons, a variety of birds, domestic farm animals, and many other rare and endangered species.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
