The Minnesota Marine Art Museum, located in Winona, the "Historic Island City" of Minnesota, features an art collection of historical significance uncommon to America’s mid-sized museums, and an ambitious roster of temporary exhibitions and programs relating to “great art inspired by water.”
Visitors to the MMAM will experience a confluence of the past and present. Complementing the Museum's renowned collections, exhibitions include works by Minnesota photographer Craig Blacklock, an exhibition on loan from the U.S. Navy, and an exhibition titled Lighthouses and Legends.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
