Mid-America Science Museum is a first-rate tourist destination, home to Arkansas’ largest hands-on science center, and the first Smithsonian Affiliate in Arkansas. The Museum’s goal is informal science education that encourages learning in ways not ordinarily found in the workplace, classroom, or home.
Experience over 100 interactive science exhibits. See the Tesla Demonstration and experience the power of “caged lightning” as you watch 1.5 million volts of electricity spark from the worlds most powerful conical Tesla Coil! This incredible show gives visitors an exciting - and safe - introduction to high-energy electricity.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
