Thank you for making Museum Day 2009 such a huge success! Please check back for information on Museum Day 2010.
Until then, check out our participating museums and upcoming events on our Twitter page.
The Michigan State University Museum, initiated in 1857, is one of the oldest museums in the Midwest.
The museum is a public steward for nearly a million objects and specimens of cultural and natural history. The MSU Museum "is committed to understanding, interpreting, and respecting natural and cultural diversity through education, exhibitions, research, and the building and stewardship of collections that focus on Michigan and its relationship to the Great Lakes, and the world beyond."
Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.
