The Martha’s Vineyard Museum preserves and interprets the history, art and material culture of the Island, past and present, to enrich public understanding and encourage community engagement.

Exhibits

Exhibitions include, "Enchanted Isle: The Story of Martha's Vineyard," "A Taste for the Exotic: Mementos from Around the Globe," "Spotlight Gallery" "Martha's Vineyard Bass and Bluefish Derby," and our Hands-On History Lab. The 18th century Cooke House will be open along with the 1854 Fresnel Lens from the Gay Head Lighthouse, and Wampanoag gallery.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
