  • Museum Day Hours of Operation
  • 10:00am - 4:00pm

Located just one block west of the charming town square in Marietta, GA, the Museum is located in the historic Kennesaw House, built 1845. One of the few buildings not burned by Union troops during the war, it has a colorful past as a longtime hotel. The four galleries include Local History, Homelife, Military and the Raiders Room.

Exhibits

Notable collections on exhibit include the extensive Dupre Gun Collection; A Century of Adventure in Scouting; and the popular 1940s Kitchen. Our newest exhibit, Y'All Come Eat, shares the rich history of southern food culture. In conjunction with the exhibit we will be having our Sweet & Savory Saturday, which will focus on Salsas, which will run from 11am to 3pm.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
