Located on the beautiful St. Johns River in the 10-acre Walter Jones Historical Park , the Mandarin Museum & Historical Society takes visitors back to old Florida. Explore a restored homestead site and relax on a riverfront boardwalk. Interactive exhibits present the history of the area.

Exhibits

Permanent exhibit “Always the river…” explores the history of Mandarin and the river that defines the community. Exhibit includes artifacts from Harriet Beecher Stowe’s Mandarin winter home and items recovered from the Civil War-era steamboat “Maple Leaf.” Rotating gallery exhibits artwork from local artists.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
