Two separate museums on nine acres exhibit American art, horse-drawn carriages, and historic artifacts. The Art museum features permanent and changing exhibition on American history and art. The Carriage Museum displays an internationally acclaimed collection of historic horse-drawn vehicles.
Long Island Masterworks in Wood features the works of three living artists who sculpt in wood, David Ebner, William King and Randall Rosenthal. William Sidney Mount Faces the Issues features Mount's artistic commentary on the political and social concerns of 19th century America.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
