Lakeview Museum is the largest private museum in downstate Illinois, offering exhibitions, educational programs, Planetarium and Discovery Center. Lakeview's Collection has 17,000 objects in fine and folk arts, decorative arts, anthropology and natural sciences. Lakeview is accredited by the AAM and a member of ASTC.

Exhibits

Discover Lakeview's permanent collection in the main gallery, including the Gilchrist White Southwest Art Collection. Enjoy our collection of Illinois River wildfowl decoys and Illinois Jacquard coverlets. Children can explore hands-on exhibits in the Discovery Center and the planetarium has shows for visitors of any age.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
