Explore the unique history of the city of Lake Jackson at the 12,000 square foot Lake Jackson Historical Museum. The Museum chronicles the rich history of the city with interactive exhibits and high-tech displays focusing on four eras of history including; the prehistoric era, the plantation era, development of the area's petrochemical industry and the founding of modern Lake Jackson.
Visitors can visit with the ghost of Major Abner Jackson, fly the Windecker Eagle airplane for themselves and learn why our streets are named This Way and That Way. There is always a new adventure to be had at the Lake Jackson Historical Museum.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
