The Lafayette Science Museum is the largest museum in the Acadiana region. It offers 10,000 square feet of science, technology, and math exhibits; Planetarium shows; a hands-on Forensic Lab; and a toddler's play area.
Free Planetarium shows are featured for Museum Day--showtimes are 11:00am, 1:30pm, 2:45pm, and 4:00pm.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
