One of Wichita Falls' most historically and architecturally significant buildings, the Kell House features distinctive architecture, original family furnishings, textiles, decorative arts, and historic costumes. Guided tours of this local, state, and national landmark provide a fascinating history of this area and the Kell family.
On Museum Day, WCHS hosts its Historic Riverside Cemetery Tour departing from the Kell House every 30 minutes. An additional fee is required as visitors are transported through time on trolleys and pay their respects to the famous and infamous of Wichita Falls history.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
