The Alabama Iron and Steel Museum documents the history of the iron and steel industry in Alabama from it's earliest days to today. Historical exhibits dominate with emphasis placed on the role the Tannehill furnaces played in the early 19th century through the Civil War.
Exhibits include artifacts from the CSS Alabama, Civil War weapons, uniforms, and other artifacts, a restored historic blacksmith's shop and machine shop, restored steam engines and other iron related historic exhibits and artifacts
