House of Broel's Victorian Mansion Dollhouse & Fashion Museums are located on the Historic Streetcar Line in the Garden District of New Orleans. It is supported by the House of Broel Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3), dedicated to the preservation of the history and culture of greater New Orleans.
Exhibits include historically accurate scale model mansions, houses, shops and vignettes; a history of 2220 St. Charles Avenue - the Gateway to the Garden District; an exhibit featuring the Louisiana Frog Farm belonging to Ms. Broel’s father and a newly opened fshion museum featuring 40 years of House of Broel fashions.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
