Located between Rochester and Buffalo, the Holland Land Office Museum focuses on the history of Genesee County, New York. The Museum has permanent exhibits on the Tonawanda Senecas, the Land Company, pioneer life and Genesee County’s Civil War Heroes.
The Museum will be having a temporary exhibit on the History of Surveying, that features the Great Survey in 1798.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
