The Historical & Cultural Society of Clay County (HCS) is home to the Hjemkomst Replica Viking Ship that sailed to Norway in 1982. HCS is also home to the Hopperstad Stave Church Replica dedicated the City of Moorhead in 1998. Regional art and history exhibits are on display as well as temporary traveling exhibits.
Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.
