Historic Huguenot Street: Where an American Story Unfolds Website »
Locust Lawn: an American Homestead farm where the story of the Huguenots continues. Locust Lawn, the home of a gentleman farmer and his family, from the early 1800s, features a Jeffersonian Mansion and an earlier Dutch-Style Stone House.
A tour of two houses shows how a single property developed over the years. Tour a Jeffersonian Mansion as it was left in 1885. Steps away is the solid simplicity of a Dutch-Style stone house built in 1738.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
