The only museum in existence housed in an original carrousel factory building, the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum exhibits the history of this unique industry. But there’s more to carrousels than horses! Learn about the art, science, math, music, and history of the early American amusement industry, from carrousels to coasters.

Exhibits

Exhibits include an operational 1916 #1 Special hand-carved carrousel, twenty-three menagerie carrousel animals, the Wurlitzer music roll production shop, 20th century Kiddieland rides, and exhibits interpreting the life of Allan Herschell, the four Herschell-related companies, and the carrousel production process.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
