The Hawaii Theatre Center was recognized as the 'Outstanding Historic Theatre in America' in 2005 by the League of Historic American Theatres and, in 2006, was awarded an Honor Award by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Listed on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
The annual HULIAU concert was created for Hālau Hula Ka No`eau to showcase their creative endeavors and to prepare dance pieces used for national and international touring. This unique company is recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts as one of Hawai`i’s leading Hawaiian touring companies.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
