Since it's dedication in 1957, the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum has welcomed nearly 8 million visitors and attracts approximately 80,000 people annually. Hailed as America's "best presidential museum" (Dallas Morning News), the Truman Library is one of 13 presidential libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration.
The Truman Library features interactive exhibits on the life and times of Harry S. Truman and his presidency. Visitors can also step into a replica of President Truman's Oval Office, view his working office, and pay respects at the grave sites of President and Mrs. Truman.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
