Genesee Country Village & Museum is the largest living history museum in New York State. The Museum is dedicated to preserving the historical, cultural and architectural heritage of the Genesee Valley Region in New York State. Costumed interpreters demonstrate life, skills, crafts and trades that helped shape today's America in the seasonal 1800s Historic Village. The John L. Wehle Gallery's hunting and sporting art collection is recognized as one of the most outstanding and comprehensive collections of its kind in the United States. The Gallery also houses the Susan W. Greene Collection of historic clothing. A year-round nature center boasts nearly five miles of hiking trails encouraging exploration of flora and fauna.
Historic Village The Village interprets life in 19th century using a collection of 15,000 artifacts, costumed interpreters and artisans. The museum is home to the nation's only Civil War era gas balloon. Rides are available, weather dependant. Art Gallery - newly renovated with exquisite open storage of the one-of-a-kind Greene Clothing Collection.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
