Visit the Paleozoic, Mesozioc and Cenozoic Eras and see fossils from Georgia and all around the world! Located in Herty Hall, this museum offers an explanation of the history of life through geological time.
Exhibits span 500 million years of evolutionary history. Come visit the "Mega-toothed Shark", the Giant Bison, extinct ground sloths and rhinoceras and the Tyrannosaurus rex. New exhibits include many mounts of animals native to the Eastern Hemisphere.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
