The University of Oklahoma’s Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art is one of the nation's finest university art museums. Strengths of the nearly 16,000-object permanent collection are French Impressionism, 20th-century American works, Native American and Southwest art, ceramics, photography, contemporary art and more.
The museum’s extraordinary collection includes major works by some of the most beloved artists of all time, such as van Gogh, Degas, Renoir, Monet, Gauguin, Hopper, O'Keeffe, Adams, Houser, Fechin, Gaspard and others.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
